[Plone-com] Where are the servers? - Cleaning up the mess and go to work again.

Hi Matt,
hi Alex, hi Carol, (Hi Andr? see below!)
I am currently cleaning up the process on different frontiers. This is on technical stuff only.

State of the project
======================

There will be a streamlined announcement of the state of the project soon. I am working on this in parallel with some people closer. (Ken: I got your points)

Some volunteering on the servers can continue
================================================

For now can you please take care of this to save time in the next days:

Carol told me during the Arnhem Conf that a (staging) server at SixfeetUp is available. http://plone03.sixfeetup.com nginx is up, but I never got any notify from the infrastructure team on progress.

- The old staging server at netsight is now down now but we had some important work there. http://plonecom.netsightdev.co.uk/

- plone03.sixfeetup.com is not serving any Plone stuff as far as I know.

- The old stuff from the netsight server is where? We used it to start an authoring guide and some IA content structure docu was there! We need access to the former data and announcement prior to shutdown!

There was no notify I got. It is not sure what the staging server is for in the others mind? Is there an existing policy you use and I missed?

So here my ideas:

Content creation still in Google Docs
============================
No change, needs a lot of clean up. A lot of confusion because lot of mess. I work on this!

How many Staging Servers?
==============================

I think we should have two staging servers for now:

Content preparation
---------------------------------
One as a content store for articles to be transferred later to plone.com, but not for testing the design. The structure there should be adjusted to the IA of Plone.com on the fly. This machine should be properly backed up and safe for working! We can put the authoring guide elsewhere if necessary.

Design testing
---------------------------------
A design staging machine that is intended to test the design and prepare production. The content of this server could be mirrored for testing from the content staging server as needed. This machine could be reinstalled any time.

Buildout
------------------
There is something at github. Do as we need it!

Who feels responsible for cleaning up this?

Design Team Requirements
=========================

Hi Andr?:
Any requirements for the design implementation process and the above?
When do think we need to install this? We should use the time to streamline the process and make clear how you like to work! I come back on the mockups as soon as you want! Ring me via Skype or drop me a mail.

Armin

FYI: Backup of all the 4 Trello boards as plain JSON is done in my office just in case by a nightly cron job.

Gabrielle did some content work (thank you!) which I've not reviewed yet but I believe has nailed down the feature matrix. When I stand up the (future) production site, I may paste in some content for effect, but please do not worry about editing anything in Plone yet, as we're using Google docs until the content stabilizes.

Hello All,

I asked Alex Clark about the prod server, and he said he would have it ready late this month. I will follow up.

Thanks,
